Harvest Moon DS

That's the cover for Harvest Moon DS. It's a fun game, and I rate it a 8/10. It would be a 9/10 if there weren't so many glitches in the game.

Music: The soundtrack for the game has gotten a lot better. I never tire of hearing it. New and refreshing and a bit nostalgic because some tunes have only been remixed a little.

Game play: It's what you can expect from a farming game. As usual, there are the mines, assortment of vegetables (and trees too), and fishing. You go around gifting the villagers to befriend them. What's great about this game though, is your rucksack's size! It's huge! Each slot can carry 99 of the same item.

As you can see, there are three pages for the rucksack! And each page has 18 slots. Each slot can hold a maximum of 99 per item. Pretty neat huh? You also still get the basket. ^^ You only get one page when you start, but you can always call up the Supermarket to get the upgrades. The first upgrade only costs 2000G.

Note: There are no Power Berries in this game. Sucks, huh?

Something else is new about the game though. In order to get Harvest Sprites to help you, you must find them. To find them, you have to do various every day tasks, search every nook and cranny, or just happen to be at places at the right time. Even after you find enough to help you, you need to earn medals by gambling at the casino. Hahaha! That's right, kiddies! Pull out your chips for a round of Poker! Anyway, there's Poker, BlackJack, and a Matching card game.

Moving on!

Animals: You get the chickens, ducks, cows, sheep, dog, cat, and horse. Right now though, I don't see what purpose the cat has. It does nothing as far as I know. To care for the animals, you brush them, talk to them, feed them, and shear/milk them. This time, there's something called a Touch Glove. To use it, you need to use the stylus. It's pretty nifty.

Farming: Nothing really changed. There are new seeds for trees though. You don't need to water trees. Just wait until they fully grow, for the right season, and then you can pick the fruit. Easy. Oh, but you can level up your seeds for better crops. The leveled up crops cash in a lot more income once shipped.

Mining: There are a total of FOUR mines. The third one contains a possible wife candidate. To gain access to the first mine, you must visit the Excavation site past 9PM. Walk in with your Hammer equipped and a short little scene will play out with you smashing a new tunnel. Unlike Friends of Mineral Town for the Gameboy Advance, you don't NEED to dig for stairs to progress through the levels. You just walk around until you fall through a hole. However, there are dead end floors. To get to the next floor, dig for the stairs. Then go back to falling through holes again. The first mine which gives you ores is the easiest to get through. It has a total of 10 floors. There's a dark chick on the last floor which you need to defeat with one of your tools. Then you've completed it! Finally, you can get the second mine. This one, there are quite a few dark creatures for you to defeat on every level. So be careful! Once you get to the bottom of this mine, you can get the next mine. Repeat.

Wives: There are a total of 14 girls you can choose from. Flora, Celia, Lumina, Muffy, and Nami are the normal candidates. Then there are the special girls; Witch Princess, Harvest Goddess, Keria (a princess), and Leia (a mermaid). After that, if you connect either of the GBA games to the DS, you can get the Mineral Town girls; Ann, Elli, Karen, Popuri, and Mary. However, if you marry one of the Mineral Town girls, it's game over.

I'm sure you can discover the rest on your own. ^^

Kitchen Princess Scans

Maggie,

Kitchen Princess scans really are hard to come by. I've never found any good ones. AnimePaper.Net has only two, and they're from the US manga licensed by Del Rey.

If you meant Scanlations, I already mentioned in a previous post that because it's licensed, no one is scanlating it to my knowledge. I've searched high and low, far and wide, and came up empty-handed.

CLANNAD Episode 10

Episode 10 is the start of the new 'arc' in the series; this time featuring Ichinose Kotomi! She's the blue-haired genius girl. ^^ Cute, shy, and afraid of being bullied, she's an interesting one. For some strange reason, Okazaki Tomoya is going around helping her make friends.

I'm usually not so ..unobservative, but somehow one way or another, I completely missed Ryou liking Tomoya...? At least, that's what Kyou hinted at. ><; Now that I look at it, there have been some small hints, but she's also a shy blushy girl, so I couldn't really tell if she had a crush on him or if she was afraid of him.

Now back to Kotomi. It's apparent she has some family issues. And before the episode ended, there was a gray-haired man standing there in that trench coat. These two things don't seem to be good.

CLANNAD Episode 8

*Sniff* This episode was so sad... So very sad. It was heart wrenching. The previous episodes have already basically said Fuuko will disappear soon, but to think the day was approaching so quickly. I wonder if Okazaki and Nagisa will remember her. I really hope they do.

The scene where Sanae starts crying, falling to her knees, apologizing and rambling, while reassuring the now invisible Fuuko was probably the tear jerking scene of the episode. Granted, the entire episode was weep worthy.

La Corda D'Oro ~primmo passo~

Genre: Music, High School, Romance
Summary:
Hino Kahoko is a normal 'General Student' at her high school. The school is split between the General Students and the Music Students. I think that's self-explanatory there, so I won't go into details. Anyway, every few years, the school holds the concours in which several Music Students compete. There are a total of four performances. Hino Kahoko is coerced into participating in the concours thanks to a mischievous little fairy named Lily. The fairy gave her a magical violin, and Kahoko reluctantly agreed. Bewildered and completely new to this musical world and surrounded by amazingly talented Music Students, what's she to do?

I loved this anime from the very beginning. It makes me want to play the game. As soon as I get the PS3, I am so getting this shipped to me from Japan. >>;

It's such a sweet anime although it is filled with typical characters. There's the stoic one, awkward one, shy one, outgoing one, cunning one, etc etc etc... but it makes for a very entertaining show. Moreover, this time I'm 'okay' with the heroine. I usually hate the heroines of anime because they're all the same. Bah!

New Anime! Lots of them!

It's a little late, but I'm sure everyone has noticed the slew of new anime this season.

I'm watching the following:

CLANNAD
Rental Magica

Night Wizard

Shakugan no Shana II
Shugo Chara!

So far, I'm loving them except I'm slowly losing my interest in Night Wizard. I don't know why I am since I love action and magic, but I really am losing my interest in it. Maybe if it gets more interesting, I'll like it again.

Naruto Shippuuden. Sai has finally showed up. I'm really happy about that. He's so funny. I don't know why so many people don't like him. He's great comic relief!

BLEACH. Everyone realizes we've entered filler mode again, right? Well, if not, then let me tell you, "We've entered filler mode again! DAMN IT!" I don't understand why they do this. -.- It pisses me off.

Shakugan no Shana II. I really like where it's going. We're finally dealing with character depth and relations.

CLANNAD. This is probably my favorite anime of the new season. It's different from what I usually like (such as action, magic, martial arts), but it's a very sweet and deep anime. Maybe that's why I like it? There's also such unique and cute people! You have to watch it. ^^ I've also fallen in love with its OP song.

Naruto Shippuuden 31, BLEACH 144

Naruto Shippuuden 31
Who else is glad this Arc is finally over? I am! Although it was a touching ending. A small, tiny, almost non-existent part of me doesn't want it to end, but the other part of me (the majority) is cheering and toasting.

I really don't think I can say anything about the episode without spoiling it. But YAY! GAARA!! WE LOVE YOU~! Alright, enough of my fan girl side. Anyway, Naruto is still so... naive huh? Well, R.I.P. Chiyo-baa-sama.

The new OP and ED themes are also a little addicting. The ED is especially funny. Sai's just too funny.

BLEACH 144
Who loved this episode? If not for the action then for the pure humor.

"Move aside, Ichigo!" Ishida shoves him and he goes flying. Then Chad does the same and Ichigo once again flies.

Ishida's new attacks and bow is amazing. I love it!

"I can shoot 120 of these with every shot!" *insert insane grin and laughter from Arrancar*

"Oh, I can shoot 1200 arrows with every shot," Ishida says in that calm and cool tone of his and then proceeds to obliterate his opponent.

That was mega cool. But now, Chad, what kind of weird and dumb name is his new attack?! "EL DIRECTO"?!?! Geez. >>;

Well, time to wait until tomorrow to see the new episode. Cross your fingers and hope it's a good one!

Kitchen Princess

Sorry for not answering, guys. I've been busy searching for jobs. =)

About Kitchen Princess, because it's been licensed by DEL REY, no one is picking this manga up for scanlating. So the only way you're gonna read this is by buying the volumes from the U.S. or getting the imports. Sorry.

Naruto Shippuuden 29 & 30 (Dattebayo)

Warning: If you're reading this, there can be spoilers. I would have taken some screenshots but my sister's computer doesn't have that option. Oh well.

Great episode. At least I believe so. Last episode was a total bummer though. Anyway, we finally see Kakashi's Mangekyo Sharingan! YAY! Nifty eye and even niftier dojutsu (techniques using the eyes).

Chiyo-baa-sama doesn't look like she's gonna last much longer. So I guess we should be prepared for a very possible character death.

And that scene with Naruto towards the end was heart wrenching. It was just so sad, it even pulled at my non-existent heart strings. But he's right. Everything happens to Gaara -- everything bad. If such a person existed in the world, I don't know how that person would live on... after going through so much.

Well, I won't say anymore about 29 & 30. :) Just watch it.

www.otakara-island.com

It's a forum that provides tons of anime and manga that I joined over a year ago and stuck with. I recommend anyone who's reading this to join. It's a very open-minded community so even those who are into hentai, yuri and yaoi or shounen-ai can join. Nothing's really censored. Hell, nothing's ever censored at this place.

Currently, it provides more anime than manga though. You can access it all via forums. However, only Premium membership allows you to gain access to the majority of it all. Thankfully, it's a very low fee. There is now an Anime of the Month though which all members can download. I find that nifty. There's also the Public Anime section that's updated about once a day everytime new anime is released (also open to all members). =)

If you're wondering where I am on there, I go by lunar blade. I'm a staff member as you can see, so yeah I'm just advertising. :P

So, once again: http://www.otakara-island.com

No Updates For A While

Sorry guys. No updates for a while. There's something wrong with my own computer and well, obviously, I can't watch anime or read manga like that. -_- The computer I'm currently on is my younger sister's. *sigh*

Well, once I get back, I'll write another post.

BLEACH fillers

It seems BLEACH is heading back into fillers for a few episodes... so I'm not even going to bother reviewing it. Although so far, it seems like an interesting enough story. *Shrug*

Synopsis: Skip Beat

Since Chrysalis requested it, I'm writing a small synopsis that's in more detail than my previous one. This one is for you, Chrysalis!

I assume this is Vol 01's Cover. Although it looks
more like a magazine.

Mogami Kyoko is a plain ordinary girl who wishes nothing more than to be useful to her prince in shining armor Fuwa Shoutaro (Shou) whose dream was to become a rock star. Unfortunately, he's a cruel man and casts her aside once she's of no use to him, having realized his dreams and stole the number one spot on the Oricon Charts with his debut single. Shamed and angered, she swears vengeance upon him. The once kind, innocent, and pure Kyoko is no more. In place of her past self is one driven with determination and revenge.

There is one man in the show business that Fuwa Shoutaro hates more than anyone. That person is Tsuruga Ren, a very successful and popular actor. Kyoko in her haste to become climb up in the show business in hopes of beating Shou and making him regret throwing her aside, meets Ren who deeply disapproves of her reasoning for entering the show business. In fact, he starts hating her. However, she is determined to not let it phase her.

However, their relationship of hatred soon changes as certain memories are revealed and slowly but surely, they become friends. Still, memories from the past come back to haunt Ren. He refuses to take any further steps in pursuing Kyoko, determined to remain just friends and coworkers.

Kyoko on the other hand is also determined not to fall in love again. Her past experience with Shou has left a bad taste in her mouth when it concerns love. She refuses to be shaken by such an emotion, instead she hopes to make something of herself. Everything she has done in the past was for Shou. This time, she strives to do something for herself for once in hopes of creating a brand new Kyoko.

Naruto Shippuuden 16

Did that guy Zetsu EAT him? *stares at the last scene with morbid fascination* All these Akatsuki members are bonkers. Itachi seems the most sane out of them all, and that's not much comfort.

Anyhow, it seems Sakura finally knows some truth to the Jinchuuriki. It's very sad. Every time, the shots with Gaara having Shuukaku taken out of him show up, I feel grief well up inside me... Everything bad always happens to Gaara, like Naruto said and I can't help but agree. Why him? I know it's animated but this anime pulls at my heart strings. I can't even bear to to put up any images because I keep thinking of Gaara. -_- Naruto, please save him soon!

Back to the episode, it didn't have any action although that mechanical bird thing Chiyo-baa-sama summoned was kind of cute. Interesting jutsu. The entire episode was alright, but the no action kind of makes me frown. Naruto and Gai are both less than 100% now due to their jutsu. Kakashi is also a little scratched. Sakura hasn't done a thing so far. At least Chiyo-baa-sama sent a message.

Neji, Tenten, and Lee will probably have to take a rest soon too because Gai is out of commission for the time being. I must say I'm amazed at Neji and Tenten's growth. After all, Neji is the only one to attain the rank Jounin! Kyaaa~!! I'm a huge Neji fan girl. Rawr. I haven't seen Lee do much other than his normal Taijutsu but meh...

I've also been wondering something. If anyone can give me a plausible answer, I'll give you a cookie. ^-^

How can Lee stand on the water like he did in the previous episodes? Isn't he unable to use chakra?

Manga: Beauty Pop

I actually started reading this a few months ago and only now remembered to post about it. >>; Yes, sorry for being slow.

Category: Shoujo, School Life

The story's not exactly your classic Shoujo Manga. Or is it? I can't really tell. The main male character is a hot headed, fiery tempered guy who aims to be the top hair stylest in Japan. Oh, his name's Narumi (forgot his surname). Unfortunately, that spot's taken by one Koshiba Kiri's father. If you haven't guessed, Koshiba Kiri is the protagonist. She's a very unique protagonist to say the least. She's not exactly your ordinary clumsy school girl with no talents, or the one with all the talents and looks with a great mind. In fact, she's the type that has no motivation, is always sleepy, constantly yawning, and doesn't show any respect towards her senpai (this pisses Narumi off, not that he isn't always angry anyway). But secretly, she's a hairstyling genius. She just doesn't care, it seems.

Anyway, that about sums it up. The next time a new chapter comes out, I'll write a review for it.

Oh, and before I forget, here's a scan.

Here's the Manga Cover for Volume 01.
I'm currently up to Volume 05. By the way,
that's Koshiba Kiri.

BLEACH 126 + 127 & Naruto 14 +15 Reviews

BLEACH 126 + 127:

126: I knew Hinamori was going to be like this. The manga kind of spoiled it for me, but seeing it animated makes me kind of wish harm on Hinamori. She's so brainwashed. Argh. Another thing, I'm very glad Chad is finally getting stronger. Yay! Go Chad! He's an awesome character that's often shadowed by Ichigo's outrageous personality. This episode made me love Orihime more. She's climbing up my Favorite Characters List rather steadily. She's very amazing for a human. Her abilities if refined would be amazing.

127: Urahara totally pissed me off! The way he said it was just so ARGH! I understand that on the frontlines, Orihime would just get in the way without Tsubaki, but she could still be of aid in healing and shielding. Yes, the Arrancar know about her shielding abilities, but still! GRRR!!! Anyway, Hachi was very kind. I'm glad Orihime's cheered up a bit. Aizen though, is one creepy fuck.

This scene was so funny.

Naruto 14 + 15: Since the episodes were basically focused on one thing, I won't go seperating everything. A lot of people found it took a long time, but I think it's a good thing for the battles to be so drawn out. After all, there were two battles taking place at the same time. Gai was admittedly very cool when he beat 'Kisame'. Naruto was one hell of a powerhouse. o.o; I mean, I knew he was ridiculously powerful what with his enormous chakra reserves but wow. I didn't even think he had it in him to attack 'Itachi'. I'm in the middle of downloading episode 16 right now. I'll make a new post later after I finish watching it.

Oh, and no pictures, sorry. I kind of delete Naruto episodes after I watch them and I forgot to take screenshots before deleting them. My younger sister stores all the Naruto episodes and I store all the BLEACH.

BLEACH 125 by Dattebayo!

The last few episodes weren't that bad but it wasn't that interesting either. This episode, it was very predictable. Ichigo would of course win over Hollow Ichigo and then practically pass out from exhaustion. Bingo! It did happen!

What I found awesome was Ichigo Hollow form was about to fire off a Cero at 'Love'. Too bad he didn't get to fire it. >>; I wanted to see the Destructive power of a Cero. *sigh*

Each of the Vaizards are pretty interesting and their powers are intriguing. The many kekkai (shields) that the fat one put up were all very interesting in my mind. That chained pillar one was an especially high leveled one I remember. Too bad it broke. ^^;

Now, I'm just worried about Orihime. I actually like her character and the OP is making me nervous. -.-

Oh, and that last part of the episode about Karakura Town being the target for making that key, wasn't it obvious? xD

Naruto Shippuuden 013 by Dattebayo!

A little late to write what I thought of the episode now, but might as well anyway. I'll post some screenshots too.

First of all, I can't stop laughing at Maito Gai! He has the WORST memory ever! How can anyone forget a face like Kisame's?! I certainly wouldn't be able to! Not to mention, he met Kisame when he met Itachi! With a pair like that, it's almost unforgettable, yet Gai manages it.

Oh, and his line, "Sou ka! Sono katana - sore ga omae no buki ka??" (I see! That katana - it's your weapon, isn't it!)

If I could face fault, I would have. I commend both Tenten and Neji for not having fallen over and into the water. And Neji's line made me laugh all the harder, "Mireba wakaru." (You can tell just by looking.)

Anyway, onto Kakashi Team (plus one old hag) vs. Uchiha Itachi -- or not quite so vs. because Itachi just STOOD there while they discussed his eyes. This really isn't very normal in Naruto in my opinion. Not many enemies just stood there. I guess Itachi has the patience of a rock. During that entire conversation, I was staring at Itachi and ignoring Kakashi's speech because I already knew about it, waiting and hoping, he'd make a move and just attack. I wanted some action! Only until the end of the episode did Itachi move (sort of). I couldn't tell if he actually did move or not because it was a genjutsu.

Overall, it was an amusing and somewhat action-packed episode. Let's see some real action the next episode. ^^

Anime: Lucky Star

This anime has absolutely no plot (as far as I know) but somehow, I'm completely addicted to it. I can rewatch any of the released episodes so far twenty times and not get the least bit bored. O_O It is truly amazing and strange.

Here are a few screenshots of the Opening.

From left to right is Tsukasa, Konata, Kagami, and Miyuki. They're the main characters.

Manga - Skip Beat!

I've recently -- a few months ago, started reading Skip Beat! It's a Shoujo manga, but a good one!

The story focuses on our main character, a teenage girl by the name of Mogami Kyoko. She followed her long time love Shoutaro (known as Sho to the rest of the world) to Tokyo when he left his small home town Kyoto to make it big as a rock star. He became very successful when his debut single made it to number one on the Oricon charts.

Kyoko finds out eventually that her beloved Shou-chan was just using her which unleashes her evil unforgiving side. Her once completely kind personality takes a strange twist and plunges into darkness. She joins the show business world in order to get her revenge against him. She even goes so far as to get a complete makeover with her new resolve. But will she manage it?

Here's a manga scan I colored in of Kyoko after her make over.

It's an intriguing and comedy packed series. So far, I'm up to Volume 17, skipped a few unscanlated Volumes along the way, but whatever.
