Skip Beat! v22 c136

I downloaded the latest chapter of Skip Beat! by Franky House Scanlations not too long ago, and although the translation is shaky, I still can't wait for the next chapter! ><; This is getting exciting. Kyoko's growing so much as an actress. However, I'm starting to miss Sho and Ren. They rarely make appearances now. But at the same time, I'm also kind of glad since I can see Kyoko's prowess. Muahahaha! Oh, I've also taken the liberty of uploading this chapter for the few who visit here. :P

Nevermind

Lol, guess I'll be updating here after all. It's a lot easier keeping things together here.

Thank you all who gave me links to Kitchen Princess. At the time the post was written, there weren't many sources for Kitchen Princess.

Here are what has been gathered so far:
www.mangafox.com : You can freely read the manga here with or without an account.
www.mangatraders.com : You'll also need to sign up. It's free.
http://the-evil-empire.net
: You'll need to have made an account and made seven non-spam posts in order to download manga. It's worth it though. They have ALL kinds of manga AND anime.
http://community.livejournal.com/kitchenxhime/9588.html#cutid1 : This particular post contains only Volume 06 scans. I didn't browse the rest of the journal yet.

Kitchen Princess picked up?

Kitchen no Ohime-sama or Kitchen Princess seems to have been picked up by a group called "Pink Everlasting [Dream] Scanlations". Although the project hasn't shown up yet on their webpage, they announced they were looking for help in editing, translating, etc for the manga. So, folks look forward to scanlation releases! Finally!

Here's the website for the scanlation group.

Kitchen Princess Scans

Maggie,

Kitchen Princess scans really are hard to come by. I've never found any good ones. AnimePaper.Net has only two, and they're from the US manga licensed by Del Rey.

If you meant Scanlations, I already mentioned in a previous post that because it's licensed, no one is scanlating it to my knowledge. I've searched high and low, far and wide, and came up empty-handed.

Synopsis: Skip Beat

Since Chrysalis requested it, I'm writing a small synopsis that's in more detail than my previous one. This one is for you, Chrysalis!

I assume this is Vol 01's Cover. Although it looks
more like a magazine.

Mogami Kyoko is a plain ordinary girl who wishes nothing more than to be useful to her prince in shining armor Fuwa Shoutaro (Shou) whose dream was to become a rock star. Unfortunately, he's a cruel man and casts her aside once she's of no use to him, having realized his dreams and stole the number one spot on the Oricon Charts with his debut single. Shamed and angered, she swears vengeance upon him. The once kind, innocent, and pure Kyoko is no more. In place of her past self is one driven with determination and revenge.

There is one man in the show business that Fuwa Shoutaro hates more than anyone. That person is Tsuruga Ren, a very successful and popular actor. Kyoko in her haste to become climb up in the show business in hopes of beating Shou and making him regret throwing her aside, meets Ren who deeply disapproves of her reasoning for entering the show business. In fact, he starts hating her. However, she is determined to not let it phase her.

However, their relationship of hatred soon changes as certain memories are revealed and slowly but surely, they become friends. Still, memories from the past come back to haunt Ren. He refuses to take any further steps in pursuing Kyoko, determined to remain just friends and coworkers.

Kyoko on the other hand is also determined not to fall in love again. Her past experience with Shou has left a bad taste in her mouth when it concerns love. She refuses to be shaken by such an emotion, instead she hopes to make something of herself. Everything she has done in the past was for Shou. This time, she strives to do something for herself for once in hopes of creating a brand new Kyoko.

Manga: Beauty Pop

I actually started reading this a few months ago and only now remembered to post about it. >>; Yes, sorry for being slow.

Category: Shoujo, School Life

The story's not exactly your classic Shoujo Manga. Or is it? I can't really tell. The main male character is a hot headed, fiery tempered guy who aims to be the top hair stylest in Japan. Oh, his name's Narumi (forgot his surname). Unfortunately, that spot's taken by one Koshiba Kiri's father. If you haven't guessed, Koshiba Kiri is the protagonist. She's a very unique protagonist to say the least. She's not exactly your ordinary clumsy school girl with no talents, or the one with all the talents and looks with a great mind. In fact, she's the type that has no motivation, is always sleepy, constantly yawning, and doesn't show any respect towards her senpai (this pisses Narumi off, not that he isn't always angry anyway). But secretly, she's a hairstyling genius. She just doesn't care, it seems.

Anyway, that about sums it up. The next time a new chapter comes out, I'll write a review for it.

Oh, and before I forget, here's a scan.

Here's the Manga Cover for Volume 01.
I'm currently up to Volume 05. By the way,
that's Koshiba Kiri.

Manga - Skip Beat!

I've recently -- a few months ago, started reading Skip Beat! It's a Shoujo manga, but a good one!

The story focuses on our main character, a teenage girl by the name of Mogami Kyoko. She followed her long time love Shoutaro (known as Sho to the rest of the world) to Tokyo when he left his small home town Kyoto to make it big as a rock star. He became very successful when his debut single made it to number one on the Oricon charts.

Kyoko finds out eventually that her beloved Shou-chan was just using her which unleashes her evil unforgiving side. Her once completely kind personality takes a strange twist and plunges into darkness. She joins the show business world in order to get her revenge against him. She even goes so far as to get a complete makeover with her new resolve. But will she manage it?

Here's a manga scan I colored in of Kyoko after her make over.

It's an intriguing and comedy packed series. So far, I'm up to Volume 17, skipped a few unscanlated Volumes along the way, but whatever.
